veins

January 28, 2009 by suburbanmummyuk

So yes I have a little varicose vein. Last week I went to a clinic to have it looked at, mostly to see if it was a varicose vein, and also to find out how much it would cost. Obviously I am deluded as I know I just need something called Sclerotherapy

This was confirmed by the woman at the clinic who said yes she thought they could do that treatment. at the cost of £1500 I am sorry what did you say £1500 oh right because in my head before I was invited into your office 35 minutes AFTER my appt time I braced myself to be told £500 max but NOOOOOO £1500

This is crazy. I walked out of there totally baffled as to why the NHS do not cover this sort of treatment. I am not getting this done for vanity, I am not getting cosmetic surgery I am wanting to get it done because some nights my legs hurt so badly I can’t sleep, some nights I am massaging the pain away and crying it hurts so much, it’s like when you do a HUGE walk up a mountain and you suffer in the following days.

But that is not all no. I get these

yes I get the massive bruises on my legs which I can feel happening and I can watch them develop like a picture on the paper in a darkroom.

I have clots which are bursting, luckily for me they are in my legs.

So I ring my local DR and say I need a APPT soon or you know I might die or cut my own leg off it hurts that much and they tell me “no appointments this week, can you come next week?” OK sure if I am still alive I’ll pop by.

SIGH

I hate the fact my legs have so many bruises you see that is just one Bruise but in fact both my legs are covered in bruises like that.

Doesn’t help that I have anemia as well lol

I am falling apart

you may try to use hot bottle to warm the vein. It will disappear like the ice (clot).

Oh Nat! I’m so sorry you’re in such pain. I hope your doc can straighten it out for you.
